In September 2017, Kenya launched the e-Passport system to issue digital passports in compliance with ICAO document 9303 and the East African Community Summit resolution. The current Passport Application and Processing Stations are in: Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu Embu, Nakuru, Kisii and Eldoret and in six foreign missions London, Washington DC, Berlin, Pretoria, Dubai and Paris.
All applicants MUST appear in person in the various stations as per the appointments for submission and enrolment of bio-metrics. The application centers are as follows
Passport delivery is done through Postal Corporation Services within the country while delivery to the foreign missions is done by Ministry of Foreign affairs.
The Kenya High Commission in Kampala was established in 1981 as a military liaison office to strengthen the historic relations between Kenya and Uganda with the first High Commissioner, reporting on 2nd March, 1981.
